Traumatic experiences, particularly multiple experiences throughout a lifetime, can result in various behavioral health problems beyond and including post-traumatic stress disorder, substance abuse, depression, anxiety problems, childhood behavioral disorders, psychosis, and some personality disorder diagnoses are all common traumatic responses. While trauma-informed care is the field standard of care, many people cannot turn the corner from intellectually embracing trauma-informed care to actualizing and being trauma-informed. This presentation will discuss setting a trauma-informed foundation while providing healing-centered services.
